So before I start my story here are some proofs where there is a huge difference in actual price and big billion days price but the irony is that the price of big billion days is more than actual price.

How did Flipkart fool people on the "Big Billion Day" sale? 11

I am Flipkart plus member so due to lots of advertisement of big billion days 2019 I was too excited for this sale and it began on 29 Sept, so I was checking different deals then I asked my mom that if she wants to buy any household things because huge sale is going here.

So she asked me to check price of surf excel detergent powder and I checked it and it shows 599 for 4 kg and with offer I was getting it in 546 (look at given snapshot above) and I asked her whether I should buy or not at this price, and she was shocked by the price in sale, and she told me that she got this 4 kg powder at 354 in Dmart, so I was also shocked and I went and picked up old packet of powder and saw the MRP and it was just 464 :/ for 4 kg and images of MRP is given below

So I understand immediately what dirty tactics Flipkart is playing with us

Basically what Flipkart is doing that it is increasing main MRP of the product and giving huge discount not on actual MRP but on MRP DECIDED BY THEM and by this Flipkart is spreading hoax of big offers of 70 to 80% off

And to ensure my doubt I tried this trick to many of my household item result were shocking and which are given below.

  • So basically there are many such types of product which are priced more than actual MRP and most of them are household items.
  • so I am not telling that all the products are like this, NO there many products which are on actual sale and I got some at a good deal and especially electronics items.
  • I have written this just to tell you that before buying anything in sales just compare with the original MRP has written on the product and never trust the price written on these websites like Flipkart, Amazon
